Flesh

by Spencer Hazel (1996)

Four performers offer their bodies for your enjoyment in an orgy of flesh. For the price of a ticket their bodies are yours for eighty minutes.

Taking the Conservative work ethic of ‘getting on your bike’ as a starting point, the Frantic company interviewed rent boys, strippers, and lap dancers in order to research the notion of sex and performance.

The resultant show, ‘Flesh’ was a provocative performance that addressed the audience performer relationship by way of a rich, poeticized text and limb-threatening choreography courtesy of Christine Devaney, formerly of VTOL Dance Company.
