Through 25 years of running workshops and training, working with actors, dancers and all kinds of creatives, we have seen what people are capable of when they work together. Something magical happens when we become greater than the sum of our parts.
As we all try to make sense of what faces us in these strange days we will see more of that magic getting us through this. And we will get through this.
We are proud of the way Frantic Assembly seeks out meaningful connection with audiences, students, teachers and artists and we will be looking into ways to continue this relationship in the short, and long term, future. Collaboration, communication and connection is vital to mutual inspiration and we need this more than ever.
Frantic Assembly holds a unique position in the UK theatre ecology. We work with artists to create and tour new writing. We connect with arts and educational establishments across the world, offering a genuine and accessible insight into the creative process. We train performers, artists and academics. We find the people who might think theatre is not for them and we change their minds! We are at the forefront of making sure that theatre is open and relevant to all and that is a responsibility we will passionately keep fighting for.
We have had so many beautiful messages of support from the many teachers and artists whose life and work have been so impacted by the current situation. We are now working on how we can continue to support the students and teachers that engage so directly with our work. It is vital we also find a way of supporting the brilliant Frantic practitioners who take that work around the world. We are working on ways in which this wonderful Frantic Family can come through this strong and healthy, ready to inspire others, to create new work, to find new voices and continue bringing new blood into the arts.
When we make the work, we talk about Building Blocks – small, secure steps that lead to discovery. We have a mantra, ‘Always Forward, Never Back’ and through this and these small, secure steps we WILL find a way.
