Ignition is Frantic Assembly's FREE, nationwide talent development programme for young people aged 16-24. Running since 2008, it has engaged with over 10,000 young people, seeking out talent in unexpected places.

Ignition plays a vital role in dismantling socio-economic barriers to access that have traditionally prevented fresh talent from under-represented communities from revitalising the Arts.

Ignition travels the UK delivering FREE workshops in association with our 13 regional partners. These high energy workshops held in both theatre and non-theatre spaces help young people discover that the Arts can be for them. Each year 24 people are selected to participate in an intensive creative residency on London in which they stage a show in just 5 days.

Ignition makes a difference; it transforms lives, open doors and allows young people to reach beyond what they thought they were capable of. They engage with an intense work ethic and achieve something they never thought possible in such a short space of time. It has sparked creativity and helped launch careers that are defining our artistic landscape.

  • Engages over 1000 young people annually, across the UK
  • Promotes inspiration and aspiration
  • Provides an intensive training opportunity for 24 'graduates' each year
  • Boosts confidence and attainment levels
  • Provides on-going engagement, mentoring and advice on vocational training and career pathways
  • Presents employment opportunities with Frantic Assembly as peer mentors, practitioners, performers and directors

To be able to deliver this ambitious and important programme we need funding. Without your help Ignition cannot continue to unearth these urgent new voices from communities across the UK. Please support Ignition by making a donation and spreading the message #WeAreIgnition

We welcome all donations, of any amount. Below are some ideas of how your money can help support young people to realise their potential through Ignition:

£50 enables a young person who has little or no access to the arts to take part in a free Ignition taster workshop in their home region

£100 enables a young person to attend a day Re:Ignite workshop with an industry expert guest in London

£250 enables a young person to take part in a two day Re:Ignite creative project in their home region to further develop their skills

£500 will help support our graduates' talent development programme.

£1500 enables one young person to participate in the week long Ignition intensive in London. (This covers all of their training, pastoral support, travel, food and accommodation. They work for a week with a professional director and creative team to produce a performance for a public audience).
