Ignition is Frantic Assembly’s free, nationwide talent development programme for all young people aged 16-24. With the support of our UK wide partners, Ignition seeks out underrepresented talent in unexpected places.

Ignition has been discovering and nurturing talent for 15 years and has worked with thousands of young people in that time. Our 2023 programme alone has engaged with over 700 young people. Ignition graduates have gone onto successful careers within the creative industries, working with Frantic Assembly and other national and international companies.

How does it work?

This Autumn we have travelled across the UK to deliver FREE taster and trial workshops in association with our 13 regional partners. Our high energy taster and trial workshops are facilitated for young people who face barriers to accessing the arts; we visited both theatre and non-theatre spaces to let young people know that the arts can be for them.

Ignition Intensive

From the trial workshops we select 24 young people to join us in London in the last week of October to devise TWO original performances that they will perform to a public audience at Brixton House.

All aspects of the intensive are paid for by Frantic Assembly.

Ignition also includes a year-round access programme which continues to train, mentor and signpost training and career opportunities both with Frantic Assembly and our partners throughout the UK.
